There are a lot of hard surface cleaners on the market that claim to be “Green” or “Eco” with no evidence to support, this is called greenwashing. Greenwashing is a type of dishonest marketing spin that uses environmental buzz words to deceive consumers into believing they are eco-conscious or hide their lack of ethical or environmental practices. These companies, like their products, only want their consumers to look at these descriptions at the surface level and not do any further research. So, the question then becomes, in a market of dishonesty and baseless marketing claims, how do we know who is telling the truth?
Global GreenTag who issues the Product Health Declaration is one of the worlds most trusted and recognisable green certification companies. They provide consumers with the reassurance that they deserve and allows products to stand tall on their claims of being green and ecologically conscious. Pureflor understands the importance of this, which is why we are proud to say that we have a Platinum Health Certificate for our Hard Surface Cleaner.
GreenTag is recognised by the most prominent certificate schemes in the world. Moreover, if a product doesn’t pass their fit for purpose test, they won’t even assess it. This is how consumers know the product they are purchasing and using is safe and healthy for your needs. The GreenTag program awards its certificates at four different levels, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum helping consumers choose and manufacturers improve.
At the bronze level a product is evaluated as healthy in use. It may contain up to 1% of ingredients of primary concern with some identified risks. Required systems are shown to protect workers and environment in manufacturing, products are GMO free, they only use RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (contain no more than 5% unidentified potential sources), use only legally sourced wood, ethical, child and slavery free employee practices. These are considered good products.
